Success Story

Red

Red in his cozy house he helped his dad make.

January 14, 2001

Dear Jody and Mike,

Dan and Red Well I finally got some pictures of our beautiful boy, Red. They may not be masterpieces to a seasoned photographer, but to us they are great. The trouble is Red is hard to keep still. You see a great shot but the minute he sees me he's got to come see me for an exchange of love. I was lucky to get him lying in his new house, but he was up and by my side the second after I took the picture. Since he like to only sleep by the backdoor, Dan and Red built this little house for him by the door. It is thickly padded with underlay, above the ground, carpeted all inside and on top of the roof for the cats to lie on. He loves it. It is quite large.

The ones with Red on Dan's lap on the tractor. Well Dan had stopped there to tell me something and Red decided he had to get up to see Daddy. He's never tried that before. Well he couldn't quite make it so I gave him a heave ho up and he was happy. Then I ran for the camera.

Red with his ever present tennis ball in his mouth. As you can see he nearly always has a tennis ball.  He goes for periods with many around him, then he'll leave them all over and a few days later he's gathered them up again on his travels on the property and will have them scattered in the breezeway, or inside or out of the garage.

Red getting morning paperHe is so proud now, getting in the morning paper and at first Dan was still getting the Sunday paper until one Sunday he insisted on taking it from Dan and now does it by himself.

He's such a joy and love. We tell Red everyday how much we love him. Outside he's his daddy's helper, never leaving his side, and goes with him on the errands. Everyone loves him as he loves everyone back. And loves to go outside and rub all around him and receive his kisses. Whiskey and him are together most times and Whiskey loves playing with him. They are fun to watch together. We are all blessed by Red being in our lives and thank you for choosing us as his family.

We hope this finds you all well and may this be a wonderful year for you.
