Success Story

Nikki

Nikki, goat triplets, and Max

Feb 18

Thanks again for all your help, Nikki is a lovely dog!

The trip home went fine, she settled right down and didn't stir, obviously used to car trips. She is getting along well with Max, my German Shepherd, and has checked out every inch of the property with great interest. Nikki completely ignored the cats...and as you predicted, she's not leaving my side. Right now she's under the computer desk as I write this note.

I will keep you up-to-date as to her progress through the week, but I'm confident that she'll work out fine.

Thanks,
Franz

Nikki is settling in fine, she went to see the vet, who pronounced her nice and fit, only recommended that she could put on a few pounds, I'm sure she will.

We used a break in the weather to go for a short walk. Nikki heels well, I kept her on the leash, and am taking it slow until she gets more used to the area -- and until she is a bit more responsive to "come". She does "sit, down, and stay" well, and is very eager to learn. We are working on "fetch", and she still needs some practice negotiating stairs -- obviously had never seen those before, and managed to tumble both going up and going down...Of course, always trying to get ahead of Max, the German Shepherd, doesn't help! Nikki is also starting to feel more secure here, and doesn't feel she has to follow me every time I leave the room, as long as I don't stay away for too long. All told, she's working out just fine, I'm very happy with her.

Thanks again for your help.

April 13

Just in time for Easter, one of my goats had triplets. And Nikki just loves them, she wants to mother them, and cleans them up constantly, whether they need it or not! She has settled in wonderfully, seems as she's been here forever.

Happy Easter, and thanks for all,
Franz
