Success Story

Captain
(formerly known as Seth)

Captain

To Homeward Bound,

I'm writing for all of the employees here at the Arco /B.P. Terminal in Richmond, Ca. Over the summer we lost our terminal pet due to old age. Sparky was 14yrs old, that's how long she had been with us.  She came to us just after being hit by a railcar near the terminal. Sparky was a very dedicated animal, loved by everyone that knew her and she respected everyone that came through our gates. She was also well known by the near by businesses, our ship's captains when docked, and all the crewmembers.

We thought that another dog would never replace her. We just thought that it would be impossible because she had trained herself on everything and this was her territory on site at the terminal.
Right after she passed that's how we all felt. Sparky was irreplaceable as far as I was concerned, but when the right time came we would check into getting a new pet.

A few more months passed and someone suggested we look into adoptions, so I started to check out web sites and yours was the one that caught my interest. Seeing the dogs face to face on-line is so great, I wish I could adopt all of them. I found a Lab/Golden mix by the name of Seth that was 2 years old, house broken, very well mannered, and good with people. We set up a date for an interview to meet him and fell madly in love with the dog. He was a little apprehensive at first but he warmed up real quick. Needless to say, we have fully adopted Seth.

It has been a few months now and we have renamed him Captain, which is fitting since we are a marine terminal. He's loved by all, and mostly by me. He protects, he keeps my feet warm under my desk and most of all he greets me every morning with the most excitement that one could ever enjoy. I LOVE OUR NEW PET CAPTAIN and so does everyone else!

Thank you for bringing such a joy to all of our hearts here at the Richmond Terminal.

Thanks All from Arco and Captain (bark, bark), that means he's staying for the long haul.
