Success Story

Teddy & Molly

Teddy, Molly and Family

Hi to all at Homeward Bound

We would like to thank you, especially Lynn who suggested Teddy & Molly and Jodi for letting us adopt the newest members of our family. We adopted Teddy & Molly about a week ago and have loved every minute even the not so pleasant ones. When we first got them into the truck Teddy must have been a little scared because he had a little # 1 accident. We just chopped it up to being nervous and a little scared. We let him know it was ok and we would be home soon.

The first day we had them we took them home to get used to the new house and possibly get aquainted to our other little guy Tigger our tabby cat. Teddy was not bothered by Tigger at all but Molly she wanted to chase him and scared him a bit.

The first day we took Teddy & Molly to the only dog park we knew about and that was the one at Howe Park. They had a blast running around and playing with our daughters Katelynn and Savannah. After the dog park we were driving home and Teddy had a little mishap and got sick on my daughter Savannah again we chopped it up to nerves. After I cleaned my truck again and cleaned up my daughter we all went for a long walk to see how well Teddy and Molly could walk on a leash. At first all they wanted to do was pull us and be the leaders. Having experience with animals big and small I knew that we would have to take control and set them at our pace.

By the end of the walk both Teddy and Molly were walking right by our sides on there own free will. Sleeping was interesting. I felt like I had a new born baby getting up every couple of hours to let them in and out of the house. We will be investing in a doggy door real quick.

Ok, so I will skip to day five which is today. We figured out Teddy had a little car sickness after he played hard at the dog park on Oak, which they both love; a nice bowl of water in the truck after his play time and now he's fine no more getting sick. We have little pouches in the back seat of the truck and we have made it a strictly doggy water storage. Works out well. Both Teddy & Molly love being in the house and outside in their little pool. They both sleep through the night and Teddy has decided that mommy's side of the bed at her feet or on her is where he prefers to sleep. Molly she has decided that either the very end of the bed where she can extend her entire body or the two blankets she decided were hers on the floor.

We can't thank you enough for these two wonderful dogs. They are so well mannered definitely good with other dogs still working on cats with Molly but she is slowly coming around. They look forward to the dog park every day and are always complimented on how well they behave and how beautiful they are. We never hesitate to tell people where we got Teddy & Molly and how lucky we feel to have found such a great group of people and rescue to have given us Teddy and Molly. I will enclose a few pictures of the kids and daddy with Teddy & Molly.

Thank you so much for making a happy home even happier. We will send you updates and pictures in months to come to show you how much we love them and how much they love being with us.

Sincerely,

Tammy (Mommy), Scott (Daddy), Katelynn 10 (big sister), Savannah 8 (other sister)

P.S. Teddy and Molly have both chosen who they want to be around the most. Teddy chose mommy and sister Katelynn and Molly chose daddy and sister Savannah all good matches. They also sit, stay and come when they are called. They are still doing great at walking by our sides. We love them both.
