SOPHIE

To Homeward Bound Caretakers:

We adopted our beloved Sophie (she was advertised as "Princess") about nine months after putting our 17 year old golden down due to severe health problems. Sophie was beautiful and spirited, but the best thing about her was her ability to "talk" and "interact" with us. It was almost as if she were human. She would look deep into our eyes as she wagged her tail excitedly or "talk" to us as if we knew what she was saying. Being the "alpha dog" that she is, you always know what she is requesting -- she is NOT shy and would prefer to be everybody's lap dog if she had her way. She thoroughly enjoys being pampered, having her tummy rubbed. She enjoys a total body massage and even closes her eyes and holds out her paws so that I can clip and file her nails. She is adorable and a very faithful companion. She lays at our feet wherever we are, indoors or out. Each day she brings us new joy to and we do not know what we would do without her. 

We cannot say enough about your wonderful organization. The heartfelt histories of each dog should be made into a book.
