Success Story

SAM G.
(See 2008 update below!)

Sam        Sam and Lily   Sam

Hi!

I just wanted to let you know that I love my new family! Thank you so much for bringing us together! I was adopted by Jeanne, Marty, and Emily Gerber about three weeks ago in January 2008. They also have a black and white dog, Lily. She is bossy, but I love her because she is like the older sister I always wanted. We get along very well. She has learned that I am tall enough to knock things off the table and thinks that is pretty cool.

Lily and I spend our days sleeping together on the couch and watching Animal Planet (except when I am busy watching the squirrels in the front yard). Every morning and night we get up and go for a walk. It doesn't matter if it is raining or sunny, they always take us out! It's great! Jeanne finally thinks I'm ready to go for a walk at the river. We live really close and she said that we'll go as soon as the weather clears up. I'm so excited because Lily told me there are great things to smell there!

The food here is great too! We eat these raw meaty nuggets that I love! We have bully sticks and dental bones to chew on that are my favorite! For Valentine's Day, Emily even made us homemade dog biscuits. She said they smelled terrible, but I thought they smelled great!

Last weekend, Lily and I went to Launderdog and got groomed. Emily helped me walk up the steps to the wash basin and gave me a few beefy treats. I was a very good boy for the bath and even stood still for the dryer. Marty brushed me forever! He got off so much old, clumpy hair. I look and feel great now! We've gone on a few trips to the pet store and have had a lot of fun! I picked out a new leash and collar and saw a Chihuahua for the first time.

Lily and I have a play date with some friends this week. We can't wait to run around at the dog park with them! It was raining yesterday and Jeanne was really excited. She told us that there would be fresh snow in the mountains to play with. I think we're going to go next week. I've never been to the snow, but am really excited! There are so many fun things to look forward too.

Obedience classes start in March and I think I'm going to do very well. Lily is going to repeat the beginner class with me so I'll have a friend and feel more comfortable. I've already learned my new name and can sit. I'll even stay for a little bit if there is nothing else too exciting is going on.

Thanks again! I love my new family and life. A few pictures of a newer, happier me are above. I'll send you another update soon.

UPDATE  2008!

Hello,

Just wanted to let you know that Sam (adopted bye the Gerber family 1/2008 used to be George) is doing wonderfully! We love him so much. We just got back from a trip to Tahoe. He had a great time!!! Below are some pictures. He is starting to look so happy! He also graduated from his first dog class and can't wait to become a canine good citizen (that is going to take a little while, but in the meantime he is happy shaking, speaking, and giving high fives!).

Thanks again for all the work you do!!!
