Success Story

RUSTY P.

         Rusty P.          Rusty P.

Hi there,

I wanted to drop you a quick note to update you on Rusty (aka Charger) who we adopted from you back on 5/29.  We are having a great time with Rusty and he is a wonderful dog and a great addition to our family.  Rusty has adjusted well and loves being part of our family as well. He has been quite busy since joining our family.  Rusty and I go for walks twice a day which we both enjoy.  We have started training classes and he is doing fantastic.  So far he has learned sit, lay down, come and to wait at the door when we are leaving for our walks.  Rusty loves to go for car rides and so we are now working on teaching him to stay in the back seat so he can come with us whenever possible.

A few weeks ago Rusty had a play date with a friend’s 10 month old golden/lab mix (who is in training for Canine Companions for Independence).  They got along really well and played quite a bit all afternoon.  About a week ago Rusty met another friend’s dog and had another fun play date.  He does really well and knows how to play nice with other dogs.

Rusty also loves to swim.  He has been swimming everyday in our pool with my daughters and takes a dip on his own whenever he is hot or just feels like a dip.

Rusty is truly a joy to be around.  He loves kids and is also great company for me.  When family and friends come over he has great manners and is able to hang out and be with everyone.  He has even brought back a little spunk to our 13 year old yellow lab.  We are lucky to have him as part of our family and appreciate all you did for him to enable us to adopt him.

Thank you,

Lisa Petersen
