Success Story

KADEE aka KEISHA

 Ean and Kadee        Kadee

We adopted Kadee (formerly Keisha) from you on 4/28/07. Originally we had come in to look at a few other Goldens but let me tell you! It is true what they say! Your perfect Golden often picks YOU rather than you picking THEM. Kadee ran right up to us and didn't leave our side the entire time of our visit.  There was no way I could go home without her.

She adjusted to her new home right away.  Instantly made a life-long friend with our 3-year old son, Ean. Every morning she goes and "wakes up her boy" by jumping on his bed and licking his face. In fact, the day after we got her she was even featured on Good Day Sacramento with Ean!  Kadee brings a new meaning to the word "tolerant" she lets Ean hug on her, lay on her, pull her in which direction he wants her with no objections whatsoever! It's almost like she's in heaven just to get all the attention. The 2 older boys in the house are only around half the time so she's developed a stronger bond with Ean. But, she is never too proud to get some lovin' from Jayden or Devin.

Digging? What digging? When we adopted her there was a warning to the "digging problem" she had in the past. Guess what? Not one hole.  Not even a little one. I think she really appreciates the fact that we let her stay inside with the air conditioner when we're gone.

During her first check up Dr. Fastiggi commented on the "unspeakable bond" that Kadee and Ean had with each other. It is such a joy to watch the two of them together. They are truly inseparable. The minute Ean gets home he goes outside to play with Kadee. They'd probably never come in if I didn't tell them to!  She makes herself comfortable every night on our couch which she has claimed as her bed and the sound of her tail wagging on our bedroom door to go out at 6:00am is almost comforting. I love going to the kitchen in the middle of the night and hearing the "thump, thump, thump" of Kadee's tail wagging because she knows I'm coming, even though that's the only part of her that even bothers to move. Goldens do value their sleep, you know!

My Mom affectionately refers to her as "Casey the II." Kadee has the mentality and loving personality of our Golden that we had when I was born that lived to be 16. Personally, I think she's the perfect mix of the personalities of both the Golden's we had when I was a kid, rolled into one.

Kadee's other "Grandma" lives right behind us. In fact there is a gate leading from our yard to theirs. "Grandma" comes over to visit Kadee and give treats on a regular basis, you won't ever hear Kadee complaining about that!

Let's not even get started on the pool!  If it's hot outside, Kadee makes a B-line for that pool every time! She'd spend the entire day in there if she could!  (I kind of knew that would happen considering she was jumping in the water bucket at Homeward Bound!)

Kadee definitely loves to be given hugs, belly scratches and her favorite trick is to shake hands.....that is until I taught her how to hold treats on the top of her nose then fling them into mid air and catch them. She's quite proud of that.

All in all I'd have to say that Kadee is the perfect dog for us and we are SO VERY grateful to have her in our lives.

Love,

Greg, Kristin, Ean, Jayden and Devin
