Dear Homeward Bound, 

My husband and I were fortunate enough to adopt "Daisy" last Saturday from HBGRR. We know we owe you a formal update with a picture. She continues with her Kennel Cough medicine and seems to be getting better everyday with very little evidence of the cough.

We wanted to let everyone know that in the past 4 days she has shown herself to be a wonderful addition to our family. Our Gordon Setter, Samantha, is taking on the Alpha role with the newly named "Riley" and teaching her the ropes in the family. They are now playing together and sleeping together. It is great to see Riley following Sammie around the house. Riley is replacing our dear sweet Madison who was herself a golden rescue who had been in our family for 7 years before her untimely death of cancer at age 8 last month. Madison has her own permanent place in our hearts.  However, Riley is carving out her own unique place in our family and in our hearts. She has lifted our spirits...and perhaps we have done the same for her.

Daisy/Riley will celebrate her 1 year birthday on October 31st with us.

We are very lucky adoptive parents. Thanks to all at HBGRR who contribute to enriching our lives and those of these wonderful dogs.
