Success Story

Cody

Hi Jody!
I just want you to know I am doing well and my parents are very happy with me. Dad has taught me to shake hands but mom thinks it would be good to go through a Basic Obedience class with me so we start this week. Personally, I know I am a smart dog but mom and dad need to know how to work with me so I can really shine. Mom is not sure how to teach me not to pull on my leash when we are walking but we'll go through that in class. (I'll let Mom and Dad think the class is for me but really, it is for them) Mom and Dad are getting many compliments about me when we go for a walk. Our neighbor lady (I think of her as my grandma as she is really nice to me) tells us all the compliments we receive from the neighbors.

I am trying very hard to be a good dog but there are times I just don't realize just how big I am. The other night I accidently tipped over a table with a lamp on it. Mom was in the bedroom and Dad heard a crash. I thought I was in big trouble so I went and hid in the spare bedroom. Dad came into the room and saw the table and lamp on the floor. He called my name and I decided to peek out the bedroom to see just how mad he was. I was really surprised, he called me over and told me to watch what I was doing and then pat me on the head. I thought for sure he as going to be really mad at me.

Last Sunday I saw a cat. Mom and Dad didn't know I'm not fond of those four-legged fluff balls. I was half way across the street before Dad could call out my name. Those fluff balls are fast and was up and over a fence before I could even get near it. Boy was Dad mad! He smack me on the back side and rambled on about going in the street and something about a being hit by a car....he just didn't realize......THIS WAS A C A T!

Dad decided to give me a bath the other night...actually, it was a shower. Mom dried me off and then I layed down on a towel she had laid out and she used a blow dryer on me....ahhhh, I was in heaven. The next morning I was so itchy! Mom and Dad read up on skin care that they had probably washed out a lot of my skin oil. Mom is now brushing me a lot trying to stimulate my skin to start producing oil again. Today is Monday and I am feeling better but still a little itchy.

Well I just wanted to check in with you and say hello. I am making sure my Mom and Dad get lots of exercise as we walk every day we can. OH! Mom and Dad thought they would be smart and see what I do during the day while they are gone to work. Would you believe they had the gall to video tape me!!! I was not to crazy about the igloo they brought home and they had never seen me in it until I was caught on video tape. They caught me sticking my head out of the igloo door and exercising my vocal chords. I was trying to explain I was wooing the foxy dog next door but they are not going for that explanation....I'll have to think of another excuse.

Hope everyone at the home is doing well and you have many adoptions. Take care and I'll check in with you later.
