Success Story

Buddy the Bat Boy

Buddy with his bat.

Dear Carla,
It has been a great week with Buddy!  We have spent lots of time together on walks with Tucker, our goat, playing with toys, watching butterflies and squirrels too.  It took a day or two for Tucker to get used to Buddy, but they are fine now. Sometimes Buddy will try to chase Tucker which ends in a butt from Tucker.  I think his favorite thing is being outside on a walk or in the front yard with us.  When we go towards the door his eyes ask "can I come out too?".

This dog LOVES toys!  Especially the ones that squeak. He has a variety of them, I would say the pheasant, the moose and the beehive are the favorite "squeakers" along with the bat (which he is starting to chew pieces off, but doesn't eat the pieces, just spits them out and chews some more).  I see what you mean about butterflies and birds!  He loves to chase them.  And he has discovered gray squirrels we have in the yard daily. We have a long, thin window next to the front door and a low bay window looking out over the yard, he will watch them just trembling and whining.

He took right to the dog door that goes from the garage to the dog run.  When we are working outside he is in and out, watching us and watching the rabbit.  The rabbit hutch is in the garage and Buddy watches him like he is watching TV. He is easily entertained.

We spend each evening playing with toys, watching him chase his tail, chew on his legs and carry on.  He is always making us laugh.  Buddy has chosen to sleep in Kristen's room each night, much to her delight.  She loves him dearly, as we all do already.

Thanks again, our home feels normal again with Buddy in it.
