Success Story

Bubba

Bubba

Hello Jody,

We have been very busy over the last couple months and have neglected our responsibility in writing you a letter about how much we love our new dog Bubba.  Let me just start out by saying he is the most well behaved young man.  We have had no problems or issues with him.

The first couple of days after we brought him home he wouldn't come upstairs and be with us.  He would stay downstairs on his doggy bed looking up at our rooms.  We then bought him another bed to keep upstairs with us to show him that he was welcome up there.  Now he sleeps upstairs with us once we put the other bed upstairs for him.  Tina, my wife, has tried to get him to sleep on our bed or the girls.  He will start out there but after about 5-10 minutes he jumps down and lies on his bed.

Whenever we leave him at home alone, whether for 5 minutes or 5 hours, he will always great us at the door with a ball or his rubber bone in his mouth just talking away.  We have to give him at least 5 minutes of loving to satisfy him or he will keep talking to us and rubbing up against us until someone talks to him and gives him a good rubdown.

Bubba gets very excited about car rides.  He sometimes doesn't want to get out of the car or van.  One time I took him outside to get something out from the trunk of my car and he jumped right in and layed down ready to go.  I had a hard time convincing him that I wasn't leaving and for him to get out.

We try to take him most everywhere we go.  We even took him to San Luis Obispo this week to visit the missions with my daughters and some friends of ours.  He did really well on the car ride there and back.  We found a great hotel that allows dogs which made the trip very fun.

My daughter's, Ryanne and Sarah, love him to death.  They alternate days for feeding him.  They always want to brush and clean him.  Sarah, my youngest daughter, even brought him to show and tell at her school.

Whenever I am to pick up the girls from school I am required to bring Bubba along to greet them and the other children.  He is fantastic with all people and animals.  We take Bubba to the dog park to get out and have some fun and to play with other dogs.  He just loves it. He always seems to find the muddiest areas just before we are about to leave and then he will go wading in their kiddie pools to get cleaned up.

Every once in a while he will see a squirrel in our yard and he gets so excited.  It's the only thing we have found that he just has to run down and
chase.  It's the squirrels that give us our biggest challenge in keeping Bubba from running.

We are just very pleased with our dog.  He has been the perfect fit for us.  We are loving every moment with him and I hope he is doing the same with us. We are looking forward to the picnic and hope to be there.  Again, thank you for finding the perfect dog for us.

The girls are also sending you letters in the mail to tell you how happy
they are with their new dog.
