Success Story

Boadie

Baodie

Hi everybody!

Wanted to let you know that I have a great forever home and am really happy here. Thanks for taking care of me until I could finally get here. I have a new brother, OG that is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, so I guess he is really a half brother, that likes to play with me. He is deaf so I have to listen for him and he watches out for me, so we are a great team.  I also have 2 little sisters. I am on a low cal diet and an exercise program so I can continue to drop a few more pounds. It's a nice house with no steps so I bump into things sometimes but at least I don't fall! My Mom keeps me in the house most of the time but when weather permits I love to roll in the grass, smell the jasmine and work on the sun bleached highlights on my hair.

A special thanks to HOMEWARD BOUND volunteer Mike Lawson! He came by on Monday to build me a cover for my outdoor patio area. It will help keep me feeling safe and dry, and out of the sun come summer! I'm a big boy but never expected to have an outdoor space that is just for me, I'm afraid of doghouses so now I will never have to go into one. My new space is 8' X 9' so I even have room for company. Mike's sister, Dawn came by and took the pictures of me. I felt like a movie star! I hope I look as happy as I am!

My new Mom is adding a waterfall to the pond, so I won't hear as much street noise. I really don't need a waterfall, but I appreciate the effort. I can't see my new home, my new siblings or my new Mom, but I have nothing wrong with my nose or my feelings, and I feel really loved here. A special message to any other "special needs" dogs, just hang in there and a "special home" will come and find you, sometimes it just takes a little longer but it's worth the wait.

Thanks again for everything, and Hi to Matt & Tina, my foster family. I really can't put into words my appreciation for the work that has been done for me and all the dogs that come to find new homes through HOMEWARD BOUND. I am happy to be a successful graduate from your program.

PS My Mom wrote this, but I told her what to say.
