In Memory Of ...

Dear Jody and Lea,

Thank you so much for bringing my Dewey to me; he brought me much joy when I really needed it. I loved him so much. I have never had a dog that was so devoted to me in turn. He was my sunshine. Dewey loved to swim; I remember the first time I took him to Pt. Isabel, a dog park by San Francisco Bay. I was still fostering him at the time. You had told me not to let him off the leash….but he was so well-behaved, and the dog park was enclosed, so I did. He headed straight for the bay and started swimming straight toward Alcatraz. I was frantic; I wasn’t sure what story I was going to tell you when he came up missing. He was about 200 yards out; but then he turned around, looked back at me and swam back. He knew exactly what he was doing! He liked to swim around in circles and bark into the waves; bystanders thought it most amusing. I had several people tell me they had never seen a dog that loved the water that much!

Dewey was very well behaved (well, most of the time). The very first morning you brought him to me, I went straight to my tennis class. I tied him up there and he waited for me patiently for the two hours of the class. My fellow tennis players and instructor loved him so much they insisted I bring him to every class after that. He was loved by me, my family, my friends, my neighbors, and everyone who came in contact with him.

He followed me everywhere and was always by my side; I was never alone with Dewey around. He was a charmer, a character, a clown and a Houdini. I will miss him always.

Thank you for rescuing him and bringing him into my life.

Lynn
