• Ryley's Run - Sacramento, June 8, 2008 
  
  Please join us on June 8 at American River College and walk or run a 5k course with friends, family members, and our four legged friends. Ryley’s Run in Sacramento will benefit Homeward Bound and other local rescue groups making a difference in abandoned and abused dogs lives. 
  
  
  
  
  

• Sunday, June 22, 2008 - Homeward Bound Reunion Picnic
  This event is always very special! All of Homeward Bound's supporters are invited, and every family who has ever adopted or fostered a Homeward Bound dog is invited to attend and bring their dogs. Come celebrate another year of Happy Homecomings!
  
  

• Saturday, September 6, 2008 - Kibble & Bids Fundraiser
  
  Kibble & Bids™ is Homeward Bound's premier, annual fundraising event with all proceeds dedicated to the development and maintenance of our Adoption Center and Sanctuary. If you're interested in helping on the planning team, please contact Andrea Lewis, and we invite you to attend Kibble & Bids 2008 on Sept. 6, 2008!

• Homeward Bound Reunion Picnic
  Every September, Homeward Bound celebrates a favorite tradition - our annual Homeward Bound Reunion picnic. This event is always very special! All of Homeward Bound's supporters are invited, and every family who has ever adopted or fostered a Homeward Bound dog is invited to attend and bring their dogs. Seeing so many beautiful Goldens together with their adoptive families is so rewarding, and the entire day is a heartwarming reminder of what rescue is all about.

• Annual Santa Parade, Downtown Sacramento
  Every year, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Homeward Bound participates in the Downtown Sacramento Santa Parade. This is always a very fun event, and our adoptive and foster families and their Goldens are always a big crowd pleaser!

• A Golden Christmas at the Sanctuary  - December 24, 2003

• In what has become a Christmas tradition, barbequed cheeseburgers (25) were served to each of the Goldens in residence at the Sanctuary on Christmas Eve. The Goldens also received their first-ever Christmas tree, generously donated by Matsuda’s Nursery. The tree was beautifully decorated by Homeward Bound volunteers.
  
  To add to the festivities, Santa paid a surprise visit to the Sanctuary. One by one, the Goldens munched their burgers as they sat on Santa’s lap or, in some cases, sat next to Santa’s chair. Santa asked each of them to make one special wish. Happily, that wish has been granted to more than a few of the Goldens that were present that day. Six of the Goldens who devoured cheeseburgers on Christmas Eve have since been adopted into loving families. Please allow us to share a few of the photos from that special evening.
