Calling All Homeward Bound Volunteers and Supporters!
For ONLY a buck, YOU can help give homeless Goldens a brighter future!

Your help is urgently needed! Can you spare a buck to help our special needs Goldens?

As many of you know, Homeward Bound has already exceeded the 500 mark for dogs rescued in 2007. Many of these dogs have come to us in need of extensive, and expensive, “non-routine” veterinary care and our funds are rapidly dwindling!

Barking for Bucks is a fundraiser designed to recur monthly, with the donations earmarked specifically for non-routine veterinary care for our special needs Goldens. An account, “the Spanky Memorial Medical Fund” will be set up in which ALL Barking for Bucks donations will be deposited.

How can $1.00 make a difference? If 190 Homeward Bound supporters pledge $1.00 a month, we can potentially
raise $190.00 monthly to be utilized for nonroutine veterinary care. That equates to $2,280 annually. Take this concept a step further, with each HBGRR supporter asking at least 5 people to match their $1.00 donation each month, and we can potentially raise $1,140 per month, or $13,680 annually!

A buck a month is virtually painless! And yet, collectively, we can raise thousands of dollars to help care for special
needs Goldens. Please consider joining the campaign by pledging $1.00 a month, and asking at least 5 other people to match your monthly contribution. Don’t delay! Look over the Barking for Bucks instructions below to join the campaign!

“BARKING FOR BUCKS” Fundraising Campaign Operational Instructions

1. The Barking for Bucks campaign begins January 1, 2008!

2. Print out 12 copies of the Barking for Bucks Pledge Sheet, one for each month of the year. Print your name at the top as the HBGRR Volunteer/Supporter.

3. Print out several sheets of the Donation Receipts and cut them into individual receipts to have on hand as you collect donations.

4. Ask at least five (5) family members, friends, HBGRR adopters, and/or co-workers to match your $1.00 donation. Remember, five contributors per volunteer is the minimum needed to make the Barking for Bucks campaign worthwhile, but you needn’t stop with five!

5. Print the name and address of each contributor on your Pledge Sheet and provide each contributor with a receipt for their donation.

6. Collect your pledges on or before the 20th of each month and mail your collected pledges (be sure to include your $1.00 donation), along with the completed Pledge Sheet, to HBGRR Treasurer, Shelly Gray. Shelly’s mailing address is located at the bottom of the Pledge Sheet. To avoid sending cash through the mail, you might want to write a check for the amount of contributions you collect and keep the cash (please make checks payable to HBGRR). We would also suggest you keep a copy of the completed Pledge Sheets before you mail them to Shelly.

7. Repeat this process each month for twelve months!
